3rd St Trail Work Party Saturday, April 27, 9AM: Please join me this coming Saturday to help clean out the side ditches that should be draining the water, fill in the ruts made by the water, and trim back some of the brambles (not too much, cause they have great blackberries!-)
I have made an event on Nextdoor, (Click here). If you go to this link, like, share, or RSVP, Nextdoor will promote it so more local people see it – and come to help!!!
To make things more enjoyable, I’ll be baking sourdough bagels that morning to help keep your energy up. So mark your calendars and please let me know your coming and be sure to bake enough.
Meet the Candidates – Dem HQ 124A W 1st St., Wednesday, April 24, 6PM: Tonight, we will have Hilary Franz and Emily Randall, who are running to fill Derek Kilmer’s seat in Congress. In addition, Representative Mike Chapman, Senator Kevin Van De Wege, and Representative Steve Tharinger will provide a review of the 2024 Legislative Session. I’ve attached the flyer for this meeting to this email.
If you can’t come to Dem HQ, here’s the Zoom link:

Meeting ID: 873 6573 2749
Passcode: 352566
Dream Playground Rebuild – May 15-19:* As most of us know, the Dream Playground burned down last December and the community has really come together to rebuild. The rebuild is scheduled for May 15-19. They need tools and workers. If you’d like to help, go to https://www.padreamplayground.org
My friend Steve Hargis is collecting tools for the rebuild. If you can spare a tool for the build, here is Steve’s link on Nextdoor
League of Women Voters: Despite their name, any one can join The League of Women Voters (LWV) – including me, and I did! I have found them to be the most objective source of local information. LWV members go to local city, county, and school board commissioner meetings, write up what happened and send it out. So I get to read what happened. They also host candidate forums and debates. They even observe the election process, which I have volunteered to do. It was fascinating! After having observed a few times, I have great faith in our election process and am so grateful for all the people that do the work. Click here to learn about Clallam County LWV.
Charter Review Commission: Clallam County has a charter, which can be amended every 4 years – and this is the year. I’ve attached a great explanation of the system and process by The League of Women Voters. Any citizen of Clallam County run to be elected to the Charter Review Commission(CRC). The best part is that you only serve for one year to help update the county charter. Please consider running for this commission.
Candidate Filing Week – May 6-10: If you’d like to run for election to any office, you must file the week of May 6. You can file in person at the county courthouse, on line, or by mail. All the information is at this link:

I will be running for PCO again this year, and for the Charter Review Commission.
I hope you have found this helpful. Please let me know what I can do to improve this email, join me at some of these events, and please sign up to continue getting these emails.
Thank you very much,
Paul Kolesnikoff
